Daily Art 2011: Days 005-007

Just catching up on the latest from my daily art project:
Practicing my comic-y stylings with Misha Collins as Castiel from Supernatural. After taking this picture, I decided I needed to "fine-tune" one little thing, and completely ruined it all. If I learn nothing else from doing this project, I hope to learn to stop overworking everything until it's crap. :D
I found a museum archive of these amazing photos of First Nations people from across North America, and they lend themselves really well to this medium of charcoal on brown paper. I'll probably do a ton more of these, I love how this one came out.
Another charcoal and brown paper piece; this is Rufus Sewell as Tom Builder in the awesome miniseries Pillars of the Earth. I couldn't get the expression right, but I like it anyway. :)

Date: 2011-01-08 07:17 pm (UTC)Wasn't Rufus Sewell that guy who was in the American remake of 11th Hour? That was so horribly preachy and the Patrick Stewart (UK) version had been about the science instead. I'm afraid that I assumed it was Sewell's fault without any evidence.
I do hope you can learn to stop when you're done. It's harder than it sounds but I wish you success.

Date: 2011-01-09 07:06 am (UTC)Rufus Sewell was in the American remake of Eleventh Hour (I haven't seen either version though), but I'm sure it wasn't his fault. Man's gotta work. ;D He's been in tons of other stuff I love, though... A Knight's Tale, Pillars of the Earth, John Adams, The Illusionist and tons of other stuff. I've just started watching him in a cop series called Zen that's pretty interesting so far, but my favorite thing he's ever done was Dark City. That movie was freaking awesome. ;D
