To be fair to My Boyfriend Paul Gross, I think the perspective on that photo makes the beam appear rather closer than it is. The beam is well behind him and looks pretty tall... he'd probably have to stand in the stirrups and stretch to reach it, even horseback. That looks like a pretty sizeable barn.

Also, at this point you're supposed to be going, "Paul Gross! On a horse!" And then you make the Paul Gross arms of win, like this: \o/ Trust me, later there will be plenty of opportunities to critique the pretty men on the horses, since in movies there tends to be a lot of snatching the horse's face off and overbitting for dramatic effect and other assorted ills. :D
