Yeah, I left a few of them vague-ish, because I'm not exactly sure what facet of the goal I'll be able to do when the opportunity arises, but I figure it'll be up to me to decide when I've satisfied my own requirements, so I'm not too terribly worried about it. If I try to tackle one and find it's too vague, then I'll just rewrite it to be more specific. But I don't want to put on there like, "Learn to hem pants," and then while away two years without a pair of pants that need hemming, and meanwhile I'm doing other sewing tasks like crazy. ;D

Some things I left off the list because I already know how to do them though... like maybe I've been doing it wrong all these years, but I do pretty decently at sewing on a button, and I've taken several CPR classes (a refresher never hurts, but I basically can't afford to do anything that costs money). The local extension offers some classes on avalanche preparedness and wilderness first aid and that sort of thing, which would be totally wicked to take, but again it costs money. :( I'll see what other learning opportunities I can find for free, though.

Thanks for the suggestions! I added one about learning wraps (I know NOTHING about that stuff) and I've been wanting to learn some braids, too. Any other suggestions for horsey stuff? There's a local saddlery here that does insanely good custom work so I'm probably going to try approaching them too about seeing if I can work in the shop in exchange for some lessons on how to work with leather.
