There is no reason for discord, unless you are trying to change your position in the herd. Hot, fly ridden days are no time to challenge the leader!!
Joe has almost ceded authority to me. I didn't even carry a short whip with me last ride. I did wipe flys off his face a couple of times during the ride. That is what happens when the cows come through, flys increase 110%.
I'm glad you posted this. I haven't had a chance to observe horses in groups larger than about 8.
